Students used
their hands to dig into the pumpkin for a gooey mess as they got out all the
seeds. We will be using the seeds for a special Fine Motor Thursday surprise
tomorrow!

Halloween Fine Motor Thursday
Fine Motor
Thursday this week was Halloween themed.
Students did the following: 1) used their fingers to stretch spider webs
and cut the spider web using scissors, 2) squeezed glue bottles to create glue
ghosts, 3) pinched clothespins to add legs to their spiders, and finally, 4)
used pinchers to pick out Halloween creepy creatures out of a bin. They have
been working hard on improving their fine motor skills, while having fun doing
it! Check out the pictures below:

We're Going on a Shape Hunt!
We went on a shape hunt yesterday at school! We reviewed our shapes and discussed how there are shapes all around us! Students labeled the shapes of different toys in the classroom then spotted with their eyes other shapes around the room, like a square table and a rectangle picture frame. Then, during center time, students got to go on a shape hunt around the Annex! Students went into the gym, the hallway, entryways, and other rooms to label all sorts of different shapes! They found circles, squares, rectangles and diamonds throughout the Annex building, such as labeling doors as rectangles, gym mats as rectangles, circles in the gym, diamonds on the gym walls, locker combination locks as circles, wheels as circles, the American flag as a rectangle, and more! Here are pictures of students standing by the shapes they found and labeled independently. Try going on a shape hunt at home! J
