The students made
butter last week during class for our science experiment! We discussed how the
whipping cream started as a liquid and changed into a solid (we also explained
what liquid and solid meant). After shaking the whipping cream in a baby food
jar for a few minutes, it turned into butter! We then used this to spread onto
toast for snack. J

Colorful Toast!
Since we were
learning about colors, students got to “paint” a colorful snack! They “painted”
with new paintbrushes and dipped those paintbrushes into the “paint” to
decorate their slice of bread. (“Paint” was milk and food coloring). We then
toasted the bread and they had toast for snack! Every single student in both
the AM and the PM ate their snack—this is the first time I’ve ever seen this! J Check out some pictures below:

Safe Hands!
Since being at school, we have been learning about how to make friends and how to play nicely with our classmates. On Friday, we read the story, Hands are Not for Hitting, and discussed ways in which we can use our hands for good. Students had some very clever answers! Check out their answers below on the poster we made. Also, to celebrate having safe hands, we made “safe hands” cookies. Students were able to cut out their own cookie and then we enjoyed a group snack! J Enjoy!
