Firefighters Visit!

The firefighters came to visit today! They discussed the following to students: 1) the importance of staying low in case of a fire, 2) not hiding in the house in case of a fire, 3) heading to a door and out to a meeting place in case of a fire, 4) responding to firefighters if they hear them, 5) how to stop, drop, and roll, 5) staying away from fire, 6) cooking only if an adult is helping, and 7) firefighters are there to help!

The students got to hear what the firefighters had say, got to see them put on their gear and what the gear sounds like, and students got to see the big fire trucks! They even got to hear the loud sirens the fire trucks can make and check out the equipment on the trucks! It was a great day and we thank our volunteer firefighters for coming to visit! Pumpkin Patch Fun!

Visiting a local pumpkin patch was fun and educational today! Students were read a nonfiction story about pumpkins, did a sink/float experiment with pumpkins and gourds, viewed the massive vines pumpkins grow on, and got to pick out 2 pumpkins to take home! Here are some pictures of the AM and PM classes:
