Our classroom vet
center is officially open for business! After our visit to the vet clinic in
Prophetstown, students brainstormed ideas as to what they would like to have
included in our classroom vet clinic based upon what they saw on our field
trip. I was so proud of their answers! The
materials you see in the pictures were all ideas from the students! Credit goes to them! J
Students were very
engaged today as they played in the center where there is a waiting room, a
reception area, and a surgical space. In
the classroom vet clinic, students did the following: 1) gave the pets a bath, 2) used
equipment to check the sick pets (used a stethoscope, thermometer, etc.), 3) read
magazines in the waiting room, 4) took money using the cash register, 5) fed
the pets, 6) examined a real x-ray, and 7) dressed in veterinarian gear, like a white jacket, gloves, and
masks. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as the students enjoyed their new
center!
